DESIGN ENGINEER (EFZ)

Type of training:

Initial vocational training (apprenticeship)

Qualification:

Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) Design Engineer

Duration:

4 years

• With a baccalaureate (gymnasiale Matura), a shortened 2-year apprenticeship is possible (way-up)
• With very good school results, the vocational baccalaureate school can be attended during the apprenticeship

Activities:

• Creating design drawings (2D or 3D)
• Designing and engineering individual parts and assemblies for devices, machines and production systems
• Preparing technical documentation

Requirements:

• Interest in technical relationships and mathematics
• Technical understanding
• Understanding of abstract relationships
• Good spatial imagination
• Precise and careful way of working

Prerequisites:

• Secondary school leaving certificate
• Good results in mathematics and physics

PLASTICS TECHNOLOGIST (EFZ)

Type of training:
Initial vocational training (apprenticeship)

Qualification:
Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) Plastics Technologist

Duration:
4 years

• With very good school results, the vocational baccalaureate school can be attended during the apprenticeship

Activities:

• Manufacturing plastic products
• Planning and monitoring production processes
• Developing customer-specific applications
• Servicing and maintaining machines, systems and equipment

Requirements:

• Interest in machines and technical understanding
• Enjoy setting up and operating production systems
• Manual dexterity
• Good spatial imagination

Prerequisites:

• Secondary school leaving certificate
• Good results in mathematics and science

Type of training:

Initial vocational training (apprenticeship)

Qualification:

Federal VET Certificate (EBA) Plastics Practitioner

Duration:

2 years

Activities:

• Operating systems, machines and peripheral equipment
• Converting machines and systems
• Carrying out production order changes independently
• Checking the required quality of the moulded parts
• Helping with the servicing and maintenance of the machines

Requirements:

• Interest in machines and technical understanding
• Enjoy setting up and operating production systems
• Manual dexterity
• Good spatial imagination

Prerequisites:

• Lower secondary school leaving certificate (Realschule)
• Good results in mathematics and science

Type of training:

Initial vocational training (apprenticeship)

Qualification:

Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) Logistician

Federal VET Certificate (EBA) Logistician

Duration:

EBA – 2 years of initial training

EFZ – 3 years of initial training

Activities:

• Incoming and outgoing goods (receiving, checking and booking)
• Storing and retrieving goods
• Loading and unloading lorries
• Warehouse management
• Operating industrial trucks (pallet trucks, forklifts, high-bay warehouse)
• Picking customer orders
• Storing and providing material for production
• Organising transport, couriers and postal dispatch
• MFI testing
