Every case makes its first impression either through its functionality or its design. The design is dictated by the function and gives off a strong message at the same time. And PLASTON also gives off the same strong message when it comes to developing cases and technical parts.

Visual impact - a decisive force. That is why the design is of a high priority, even though it is subordinate to the practical function of the case. PLASTON discusses and agrees on the design with the customer to ensure that it is efficient to produce and will make an impact in the market. In addition to personal communication, the electronic exchange of data renders the design phase so much more efficient and steers the whole process to the desired goal with greater ease.

Experienced plastics engineers work together with the PLASTON development team. They provide the necessary specifications for the draft designs of the product.

In order to determine the production parameters, the specialists choose the materials and machines, and provide both manually and software-assisted calculations. They then cross-match the results with data acquired through their many years of experience.

When developing products, PLASTON works with the simulation software Autodesk Moldflow Insight, for a greater extension of the functionality. This means that they already have detailed results in the pre-project and development phase to design the correct layout for the tool (mold) and as a result make a high quality product.

The specialists at PLASTON play the part of comprehensive development and production partners. They drive every product life cycle further: The practical experience they gain predominantly during the sampling and pilot series phases, continuously flows into new developments.

PLASTON uses modern CNC machining centers and can even manufacture the most difficult special molds for injection molding tools. Because the company manufactures its own tools, this shortens the lead times and overall production time, meaning that reliable prototypes can be ready within a reasonable time.

Furthermore, PLASTON has access to a global network for the procurement of tools.

PLASTON has many years of experience in injection molding technology. Thanks to its 1K and 2K injection molding machines with a clamping force of up to 1,600 tons, the production facilities are equipped for all eventualities.

PLASTON manufactures in Switzerland, the Czech Republic and China. The permanent transfer of knowledge between the sites ensures the consistently high quality of PLASTON.

The company's logo must of course feature prominently, durably and effectively on the tool case or technical plastic part. The cases and plastic parts from PLASTON do not only fulfill their practical purpose, thanks to their labeling and finish they also support and profile brands and trademarks.

The specialist at PLASTON have mastered all the labeling and finishing techniques in their field, from hot stamping and image stamping using screen and pad printing, to In-mold Labeling.

PLASTON assembles components from individual plastic parts that have been, for example, made in different colors and with different plastic mixtures. Even metal and electronic parts are integrated in the assemblies as requested.

The assembly work can also be designed to create finished products that are ready for sale. For example, PLASTON assembles (and packs) all the air treatment systems for BONECO, which is also a member of the group.

Depending on the stage in the assembly process, this is either integrated directly in the production process or it is carried out afterwards in a semi-automated process or by hand. The assembly lines are quick to set up and can be extended at any time. A six-arm robot takes care of the assembly of the industrial cases.

Cameras check the completeness of each assembly. Final checks, depending on the product, also include a leak and functional test.

With production sites in Switzerland, the Czech Republic and China, PLASTON is always near its customers and can adapt flexibly to their logistical needs.

PLASTON sees the 'Just in time' concept as being something very comprehensive. It already starts in the planning phase, which includes the forecast figures from the customer, and goes right up to the assembly line where the product can be delivered directly.

Whether it is 'Ship to Line', Kanban or a consignment stock, the logistics specialists at PLASTON are familiar with every kind of logistics system and happy to provide professional advice so that the customer can also keep storage costs to an absolute minimum.

The customer can be assured at PLASTON that their plastic parts, assemblies or industrial cases will be delivered at the right time, in the right quantity and quality at the right place. The experienced logistics specialists also choose whether it is best to transport by land or sea, or even by air in exceptional cases, depending on the possibilities and options available.

PLASTON also ensures there is a safety stock level. There are 3,000 pallet spaces available at the production plant in Widnau alone. The plants in the Czech Republic and China also have sufficiently high storage capacities.

Our purchasing process is just as global and comprehensive as our logistics. While our strategic purchasing is conducted from our headquarters, we also have operational purchasers at our three production sites. These professionals know the ins and outs of plastic granules and color concentrates. Their expertise has a direct impact on the unit price of the finished product.

PLASTON processes around 10,000 tons of plastic every year. This equates to 40 tons per working day.

Since 2018 Plaston is UN certified manufacturer of transport packaging for lithium-ion-batteries.
By using our UN certified cases no additional packaging is required. This results in an easy handling and reduces transport costs.
